Unique Features:
The main body of this piece is brown patterned damask drapery fabric. Inside it is fully lined with tan plaid cotton. Two inner pockets are cut from aqua/gold drapery. This same fabric lines the flap and provides the decorative cummerbund for the front which is edged with tea dyed lace trim and vintage brown bullion fringe. The back “wave” pocket is edged with a piece of faux fur and true vintage black tasseled fringe. The flap is edged with this same black fringe, contemporary cream beaded frayed tassel trim and a three inch black tassel. The adjustable strap is fashioned from two different brown patterned jackets. Leather strips cut from a coat, make up the front fringe and strap tassel. Added to these are various braids of lace, fabric and yarn as well as jewelry. Among the jewelry pieces are an aqua vintage glass earring, six necklaces and a smoky/clear rhinestone medallion focal that graces the flap on a hand tanned cluster of pheasant feathers. A bronze magnetic snap closure secures the top.
All materials are upcycled excluding the bronze rings, metal snap, a small aqua ribbon and piece of cord. Hang tag is signed by the artist.
